Gifted (This post contains products which have been gifted to me for consideration, all thoughts are my own).
Earlier last week a surprise package arrived at my door from the lovely team at Dr Botanicals. It was quite unexpected. It contained within it their latest launch, the Lemon Superfood all-in-one Rescue Butter* which is a multi-purpose product that can be used on all areas of the body ranging from dry elbows and knees, cuticles, lips and more. It aims to nourish, hydrate and protect the skin upon application, you can even use it as a cleanser, although, I will admit I haven’t yet tried that.
if you haven’t heard of Dr Botanicals before then I would urge you to have a look into the brand, especially if you are looking for natural skin care products and those which are cruelty-free and vegan. They have so much to offer. I do also have the Moroccan Rose Facial Oil to test out which I received in a limited edition Birchbox around Mother’s Day, this has great reviews, therefore, I cannot wait to give that a try.
The balm itself is fairly thick, it is thicker than a lotion but not as thick as a cleansing balm. In fact, the texture is really nice and it easily squeezes out of the tube with no problems. In the very short time that I have been using this, I can already see that it is giving me positive results in terms of how moisturised my skin is. It is smoother and no longer as dry (I suffer from dry hands quite a bit as I am always washing them). I also have a terrible habit of not using my body lotions, despite having several favourites, however, there is something different about this product that is making me reach for it regularly. Perhaps it is the incredible scent? It just makes me want to use it over and over again.
If you like citrus scents then I am pretty sure that you will love this. I do find that lemongrass is quite strong, but this is something that I really do like. I find it so incredibly refreshing and enjoyable to use. I have also learnt that the lemongrass oil within this has antifungal properties which assist in providing antioxidant protection to this skin. This wasn’t something I was aware of beforehand; I find this so interesting and wish I could learn more about ingredients and how they work. There are of course more involved here than just lemongrass oil, therefore you can find the list below and read more about the product and what the ingredients do over on the brand website.
Overall I am really enjoying using this product from Dr Botanicals, more so than I thought I would. It is lightweight, non-greasy and it smells divine. It ticks all of the boxes!
