Another month has come and gone and here I am feeling a little overwhelmed at just how fast this year seems to be going. I know that’s a cliché guys, trust me I know but crikey, I could do with things slowing down just a little bit so that I can catch my breath. Whilst everything around me seems to be moving at lightening pace I’ve generally been quite safe with my favourites this month as I’ve being using some old favourites along with two products that I have never mentioned on here before.
One of those products is the Dior Addict Lip Glow which was a purchase I made at the beginning of the year. Looking back in my archives this has been a product that has been featured in at least three wish lists so I think it was an entirely justifiable purchase. Whilst I do think it is a little over priced for what it does I can’t help but still love it. It is a catch 22 as the expense is certainly something to consider yet it is one of those products that a lot of people seem to really like so naturally curiosity can often get the better of you; it sure did me. Having said that it is a beautiful little product that helps to keep my lips nicely hydrated all whilst providing a nice pop of colour. Application is effortless and the packaging is beautiful too, however what more could you expect from a brand such as Dior.
The Avène Cleanance Expert Emulsion* is one of my most recent skincare products that I have being testing yet it has already become quite firmly established within my routine. Essentially I think it’s a similar type of product to the much hyped La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo +, yet I do find this version to be more like a cream in texture as opposed to a gel like consistency. I also think that it is more gentle too as I over time Effaclar Duo + can be a relatively strong product to use on a regular basis (in my experience). At the moment I’m only using this in areas which I feel need it which once again happens to be my jaw line. I’m suffering from quite a few break outs at the moment and I literally have no idea as to why. Whilst this isn’t a miracle worker I do like the fact that it is helping to calm break outs down and is making a notable difference to my skin through regular use. If you’re looking for an acne/blemish treatment yet suffer from sensitive skin I really do think that this would be a product worth reading into further.
Currently I’m using two products from Kiehl’s that I’m really enjoying using, in fact so much so that I cannot see them falling out of my routine any time soon. The Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate* was a product I purchased back in June at the Birmingham Blogger Meet Up event that I attended and has since been a product that I have been kindly sent to feature. This is such a lovely serum to use of an evening as it is light weight, easy to apply and does not leave my skin feeling greasy in the slightest. Overnight it seems to almost wave its magic wand as by morning my skin looks so soothed and fresh even if I’ve only managed to get five hours sleep. Like most Kiehl’s products this isn’t cheap however it truly will last you a long time as you need only a few drops a night. Sticking with Kiehl’s for one more moment I also have here the Creamy Eye Treatment with Advocado which has to be so far my favourite eye cream to date. This is quite a thick eye cream yet that does not affect the application of it as I find that it somehow seems to melt into the skin once in contact with it, I also find it to be incredibly hydrating which makes for the perfect base when considering concealer. In the time that I have being blogging I have tried a few eye creams, yet this is the only one that I know I would repurchase in an instant.
Finally I have dug out an old favourite here which is Hugo Boss Orange. I’ve worn this for a while now on and off yet it always seems to come out of my draw around this time of year as it is a lovely light fragrance for spring and indeed summer. I say draw because I have always been told to never display fragrances in the open as the sunlight will ruin them, therefore currently all of my fragrances are stored away in my desk. Is this true or have I been misled all of this time?
