Cosy baths are the one! I still have this candle from an @elemis_uki gift set a couple of years ago, it still smells good although it is on its last legs now. I could do with some new candle recommendations for 2024 so hit me up if you know of any good ones.

I also opened up another @soapandglory The Righteous Butter Creamy Bodywash a couple of days ago, I had forgotten how nice this was! It’s definitely one of my favourites from them and the original scent is still the best in my opinion 🙊

I’ve been a bit quiet on this account, I had grand plans on returning but my gosh, it just isn’t that easy. I’m still quite active on my book account @thejulyrosereads if you’re interested but I appreciate that’s not my audience here. Maybe 2024 will see a new ‘July Rose’!

Sunday evenings usually call for a soak in a nice bubble bath, however, that is very much off the cards tonight. It’s so warm here in the UK, I’m not a fan of the heat and I find myself reaching for a cool shower!

This evening I’m relaxing after a bit of work this morning (to get ahead for tomorrow) and some housework, what a riveting life I do lead. I also managed to publish a blog post today, shock horror. It’s book based if you’re interested. I’m planning some beauty/lifestyle posts so do bear with me. Ad/PR Product - The @biossance Squalane and Rose V

Ad/PR Product - The @biossance Squalane and Rose Vegan Lip Balm* was sent to me a little while back now (I’m so sorry for the delay in featuring this) and I just wanted to give it a little shout out as it is a bedtime staple for me that I reach for every night.

This is a fragrance-free lip balm which actually is the one criticism I have as I’d like a scent despite it being a bedtime product for me.

With regular use I find that it nourishes my lips and keeps them looking hydrated and soft.

Since I received this product I believe it has been reformulated (don’t quote me on that) and that it has also changed packaging into a tube which I think is a huge improvement. I’ll be picking that up when I reach the end of this. It also lasts a while so you certainly get your moneys worth! 💋

Ad/Pr Products - A few makeup favourites of late. They’re all oldies for the most part but goodies!

First up, the @lizearlebeautyco cream blush in nectar. This is old guys, in fact it’s almost gone now as this photo is a few months old. Liz Earle discontinued their makeup like a while back, this is the only thing I have left. I love the pop of colour this gives my cheeks.

Next we have the @anastasiabeverlyhills DipBrow Pomade in soft brown. I’ve had this absolutely ages, pretty sure it’ll outlive me at this point. I jest! Anyhow, it’s a great brow product, perhaps my favourite to date.

I just finished off this week the @erborian_uk CC Creme* and I am sad. This is the best PR product I’ve ever been given when it comes to makeup, it lasted me ages as well. I loved it, love, love, love. The coverage was just right for me, light but still masking those imperfections.

The @lorealparis Infallible 24 More Than Concealer* has been my go to now since it landed on my doorstep. It is so pigmented, you don’t need much. I find it nice and brightening but would urge you to make sure that you have a hydrated base underneath as it can look dry on the skin otherwise.

The @marcjacobsbeauty Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara was in a past beauty box. I’ve loved it since I opened it although it is now loosing its oomph as it were (it has been open several months now) it separates my lashes very well and gives wonderful volume. Love it.

Last but not least we have the @benefitcosmeticsuk 24 Hour Brow Setter. This is ok, I probably wouldn’t reach to repurchase but it does the job to an extent. I wouldn’t say it holds my brows in place rock solid but for chilled no makeup makeup days it ticks the boxes.

Ad/PR Product - What’s this, what’s this? A new grid post?! The first in how many months…

Yep, this is not a figment of your imagination. This is a new post, a mini skincare review for you on this lovely Sunday afternoon.

I have here today the @bondisands Sunny Daze SPF50 Moisturiser* and the Eye Spy Brightening Eye Cream* which I have been using on and off for several months now. I thought I’d share as I have mixed opinions.

Starting off with the moisturiser, I love the packaging and name but that’s about where it ends for me sadly. I didn’t know it was tinted, this came as a surprise and unfortunately the tint just doesn’t suit my skin. It is too orange. The less you use the better it is but this is supposed to be an SPF so you need a decent amount. Needless to say, it doesn’t work for me. I do like that it is SPF50 though, the higher the better! I would say that this is quite matte, I don’t find it hydrating and find myself reaching for another moisturiser to mix it with. I also find that it can pill on its own when on my skin. Lastly, it doesn’t have a very nice smell which puts me off using it. I think I’d get away with this for no makeup days but ultimately I rarely reach for it.

Moving onto the eye cream, I do prefer this and actually find myself coming to the end of the tube. It does have a brightening effect, but that’s down to the finish of the product I’m sure. I like that it contains Vitamin C as this is important to incorporate into your skincare routine. However, I’ve seen no long term lasting results whilst using this so whilst it’s nice to use, I probably wouldn’t purchase it myself in the future.

Have you tried either of these products? I’m a little sad that I didn’t get on with these as I had high hopes.
