It has felt like a very long time since I made a couple of beauty purchases, my last post in this series back in June 2016 is such long time ago. In all honesty some of the products featured today are repurchases that I have made over the last few years, simply because the products are that good. There are however a couple of new introductions which I am currently road testing, it’s nice to try something new as I have been on a bit of a beauty budget for what feels like a super long time.
After having tried a couple of the new L’Oreal Pure Clay Masks I was quite excited to see the facial washes launch a couple of months later. I had experienced really great results from the detox mask in particular which is the reason as to why I decided to purchase the detox wash. Put quite simply this is a light gel facial wash which is so smooth, there are no gritty bits at all making it incredibly soothing on the skin. Despite it being clay based it is not drying at all on the skin, however I wouldn’t say that I notice amazing results which make me go ‘wow’. To me it is simply a really nice facial wash for the morning which is clarifying and pleasant to use. Would I purchase it again? Most likely yes, it is pretty affordable and it does a nice job of keeping my skin refreshed and clear.
A long term favourite product of mine must be the Batiste Dry Shampoo. In my time, I have tried countless other brands offerings and always find myself returning to Batiste. It never makes my hair feel heavy and it does the best job at bringing my hair back to life if it looking a bit worse for wear. I really do try not to wash my hair too frequently as I know that it isn’t good for it, therefore it is really handy that with just a couple of light sprays of this I can go out and about feeling confident that my hair looks ok.
Garner Micellar Water
Once again this is another product that I just keep on repurchasing. It is my favourite micellar water by a long mile, in fact I rarely even consider trying any other brand now as this is just perfect for my skin type and the make up that I use on my eyes. It works wonders and it is as cheap as chips.
L’Oreal True Match Foundation
A new purchase for me comes in the form of the L’Oreal True Match Foundation which I have read really good reviews about from some of my favourite bloggers. That being said, I have to say that so far I am quite disappointed with this product. In terms of shade this is perfect for me, I picked up the lightest available and it blends in really well with my skin tone, however where it seems to be falling fowl for me is the actual formula of the product.
Having tried this on top of a primer and without I just cannot for the life of me get this to work well on my skin. It sits badly in general, no matter how much I blend it and it sticks terribly into any slight dry patch. At the moment, I am trying to persevere because I hate to be defeated, therefore if you have had trouble with this foundation but have since resolved it, please do let me know.
It has been a good couple of years since I had this product within my collection and I am really looking forward to using it once again. I remember it being such a good product which was fantastic for under the eye in terms of brightening the area up; it is nice to know that once my current highlighter runs out that I have a trustworthy back up. Since writing this post this product appears to have been re-branded to the Touche Magique Dark Circle Concealer.
