NARS JetSetter Palette

NARS JetSetter Palette

There are only a small number of brands which I buy repeatedly from, I am not just referring to one particular type of product, I simply refer to the brand as whole. Finding a brand which brings to the table fantastic foundations and a shade range which is second to none, highlighters that offer radiance but without the glitter fest and bright red, pink and utterly gorgeous nude lipsticks across the whole spectrum is quite hard to find. Not many brands in my humble opinion manage to achieve all of that and continue to bring out amazing new releases every year. One such brand however is NARS.

NARS has been featured quite heavily on my blog in the past and that is because I just adore the brand. It is a bit different, I find it quite edgy and rebellious yet the products are wearable and not in the category of ‘pretty but oh my gosh I would never wear that’. Every product I have ever purchased has been a hit, a shout out in particular would go to the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation, NARS Laguna Bronzer and the NARS¬†Virtual Domination Cheek Palette which to date still has incredible packaging that I hope one day they will bring back so I can simply buy more.

As you may have guessed, I am quite the fan, therefore when I was kindly offered to try the NARS JetSetter Palette* I was rather delighted to say the least. This palette is exclusive to World Duty Free so if you are heading off on holiday this year and wish to pick one up, now is the time to get your order in so that it is waiting for you at the airport. My first impressions of this palette was of sheer excitement, I can’t help it, at 28 I still get excited about nicely presented products and I know I always will. Of course, this was a nightmare to photograph with its shiny reflective sunburnt finish, however I can look past that once the photograph has been taken.

Like all palettes that I have had from NARS this is made of sturdy stuff so should be travel friendly no matter how bumpy the flight. It also comes with a travel size Blush Brush which will be super handy for me for putting in my make up bag on a daily basis, let alone travelling as my current brush always sticks out the top at an odd angle.

Inside the palette there are four eye shadows, one blush and a bronzer powder and a full-size Velvet Matte Lip Pencil; making the perfect all in one palette for travel. The eye shadows within this palette are Belissima, Kalahari 1 (my favourite), Bounty and Pandora 11. The first three shades are right up my street and can be used to create a really soft day time look. Pandora 11 I think is an interesting one to use in the palette, it is black and I am often on the fence when it comes to black eye shadows in a palette because I personally find them hard to use. However, what I do use them for is going over my eyeliner with a fine angled brush, if you haven’t tried that technique I would highly recommend it because it really helps to prolong how long your eyeliner stays in place, in fact, I have found that it will last nearly all day when doing this.

The blush and bronzer are probably one of NARS’s most talked about products, that being the Orgasm Blush and Laguna Bronzer. They are both fantastic and are products that I would recommend to anybody to buy in full size on their own. Orgasm has quite a coral tone to it, however it isn’t too warm or too light. This does have shimmer in it though which is something to bear in mind if this isn’t really your thing, however it isn’t in my opinion over whelming at all, but then again, I can be quite partial to a bit of shimmer, especially when on holiday.

NARS Laguna was the first bronzer that I ever tried which I liked. I have never been a bronzer girl but since using that for the very first time about two years ago I have welcomed other brands, although in all honesty I always come back to this. Not to be confused with contour, it is too warm for that on my skin tone, however it works perfectly for warming up my complexion and adding that sun kissed glow.

Last but certainly not least is the full-size Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in the shade Dolce Vita. I already own this myself in a mini version from one of their releases back in 2013 (oh how time flies) and I still love it to this day. Admittedly I haven’t worn it very much lately, I am still going through Invisalign treatment so it makes it quite difficult to wear lipsticks other than tinted balms etc. These lip pencils are however incredible, they are probably the best that I have personally tried in 6 years of beauty blogging. They glide on effortlessly, they’re easy to wear and don’t dry your lips out (although I would always recommend putting a bit of balm on beforehand anyway) and of course they are pigmented.

Overall, I am once again super impressed by NARS, their palettes just bring it to the table every single time.

This can be purchased from World Duty Free for £49.50.
