It goes without saying that one of my favourite blog posts to read of the year from others is those that feature their most loved products for the year. I love to find out what people enjoyed the most and what made the cut, therefore it goes without saying that I, of course, enjoy writing those posts too.
I have decided to split my best of 2018 into two posts this year. The first will look at skincare and other miscellaneous items, whereas the second will focus on makeup. So, without further ado, I would like to share with you my favourite skincare items of 2018.
The first product is one which has been featured before on my blog on numerous occasions. The Garner Micellar Water is a constant repurchase and it will be throughout 2019 I’m sure. It is such a nice product to use to remove my makeup in general, although its stand out award goes to removing my eye makeup in particular before I cleanse my skin properly. I absolutely love it and can honestly say that I have not found any other micellar water that I have liked as much as this one.
My second skincare favourite is the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Oil. I have only recently started using this, I’d take it back to late August when I opened it, making this a bit of a late contender. It is an incredibly gentle cleanser which removes my makeup with ease, even eye makeup. I would definitely recommend this if you like cleansing oils as it is so gentle on the skin and poses no irritation whatsoever.
I’d also like to give a shout out to the Dirty Works Youth Code 8 in 1 Miracle Serum which I have used on and off now for a while. You can pick this up from Sainsbury’s which is super handy, making the whole range relatively obtainable. This is no miracle worker by any stretch of the imagination, however, I do think it helps to lock in the moisture on my skin underneath my everyday moisturiser. I also really like the gel texture and the cooling effect that it has on my skin. I use this more often during my morning routine as I tend to teach to reach for something with a bit more oomph at night time. Sunday Riley Luna, I’m looking at you.
As you may notice, I have two moisturisers within my favourites this year, one for morning and one for the night. The first one will come as no surprise as I feel as though I have harped on and on about the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturiser SPF 30* for months since I first started using it. This is hands down my favourite product of 2018 and I truly believe that the love affair will continue long into 2019. You can read more about this in my Summer Essentials post from earlier on this year, although I do think that I should produce a dedicated review on this product at some point in the next few weeks.
My second choice of moisturiser is the Argan + Overnight Treatment Cream* which I received a little while back now. In truth, I only got around to testing it out properly this year. I have been so pleased with how this product turned out as I had not previously used much from the brand at all, or indeed read much about them. First and foremost it smells divine, it truly is incredible. I find that it leaves my skin super hydrated without making greasy come the morning time, I am somewhat surprised at this as it does contain Shea Butter which in the past has been known to break me out a bit.
My final shout out goes to the Sally Hansen Maximum Nail Growth nail treatment which I purchase over and over. It is a great little product for helping your nails to grow a bit quicker. I use this throughout the year in a bid to grow my nails; if only my will power could be as good as this.
