It is the final day of December, we are fast approaching 2020 and I must admit, it has crept up on me quicker than I had realised. I was still very much enjoying being in Christmas lounge mode, yet with the New Year comes the return to work and somewhat normality. But, before that all sets in, I do have one last post to share with you of 2019 and that is a beauty purchases post.
I realise, it has been ages since I shared with you some of the products I have picked up and let me tell you, there are quite a few that I haven’t got around to sharing simply due to time constraints. That being said, I am back today with a new post in order to restore some order to this.
It had been a while since I made any purchases from Glossier, however over Black Friday they did have 20% off which I find is somewhat unheard of for the brand, therefore, I did make an order. I chose the Brow Flick Micro Fine Detailing Pen (in brown) as I had heard so many good reviews of this, plus, having watched it in action with Katie Jayne Hughes I just could not hold off ordering it any longer. I also picked up the latest release which is the Futuredew oil serum. This is marketed as a skincare product, however to me I think it is more makeup based as I would apply this after my skincare and before my makeup with the aim to create a glow from within so to speak.
At present, I haven’t yet tried Futuredew at the time of writing, although I do intend on opening this up very soon as we head in 2020 as I do not have anything really like this within my makeup routine currently. On a side note, I absolutely love the packaging, although I must say that Glossier do seem to nail this every time.
It feels quite refreshing to share a brand on here that I have always enjoyed but rarely sees much coverage in the blogging community (from my experience). That brand is No7 and personally I think that over 2019 they had some great launches, plus, those Boots vouchers really do save you some pennies on the range which is well worth looking into.
Whilst on my Christmas shopping travels I spotted the No7 x Alexander Shulman collaboration which really did catch my eye. In particular, the Beauty Treats Tin which contained four products and of course a very beautiful tin which you could keep long after the products had gone. I thought this was quite unusual and did decide to treat myself to it, which if I recall, it was discounted at the time and not on the 3 for 2. I intend on keeping this and using it on my bedside table to store odds and ends in as it is really pretty, I love the vintage vibe that it has to it. The tin itself contained the No7 Lash Impact Mascara Black in fancy glitter packaging, the No7 Matte Liquid Lips Grace, No7 Powder Blush in Damson Mist and the No7 Stay Perfect Eyeshadow in Navy Shine. In truth, I think I will use everything from this barring the navy eyeshadow as this just isn’t the type of shade I would pick.
A blast from the past in the beauty world cropped up when making an online Amazon order. In order to qualify for free delivery, I needed to buy one more thing for around £4. I ended up rebuying the Revlon Colourburst Lip Stain in the shade Honey which I used to use years and years ago. This is such a good product and I had forgotten just how nice it was. I am rather glad to have this back in my collection.
The final product I purchased was the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser Gift Set which came with the cleanser, obviously, and a mini lip balm. Now, these lip balms are tiny, so much so that I was quite taken back by just how small they are. That being said, they are handy and they do work wonderfully on the lips, however, be prepared to lose this at the bottom of your handbag. Again, I haven’t tried the cleanser yet as I am finishing up a few things, although I am aware that this is one of Fresh’s best sellers. This was of course on a Black Friday deal and I didn’t want to miss the offer as I do find that Fresh can be quite expensive and rarely again do you stumble upon deals, therefore I do like to take advantage of them when I can.
So, that is it, my latest beauty haul so to speak and the very last post of 2019. That ended rather abruptly and I know I will be asleep before the New Year sets in, so, in light of this, I wish you a very Happy New Year and all of the best for 2020.
