Milk Makeup hit the UK a few months ago after a long wait from overseas. Ever since the launch, I have been seeing a number of products featured and recommended. I was on the fence in truth as I wasn’t too sure what to make of it. I am generally more sceptical these days, however, the beauty enthusiast in me wanted to have a dabble.
My decision was made upon the release of the Milk Makeup Kush Stash Bag. I felt that this was a good way to try out a few products from Milk Makeup all in one go. I also made one additional purchase alongside this as the main product that I had wanted to try was the Lip and Cheek product which is not part of the Kush Stash Bag.
In the Milk Makeup Kush Stash Bag, there are a total of five different products. Firstly you get a Mini Kush Mascara, Cooling Water Eye Patches (one set), Mini Cooling Water, Kush Lip Balm (original) and the Cannabis Hydrating Face Mask.
At present, I haven’t had a chance to try all of the products out, namely the mascara, lip and cheek and the cooling water and eye patches remain untested. What I have tried so far has met with mixed opinion. The Cannabis Face Mask is what I believe the latest launch from Milk Makeup. This contains hemp derived cannabis oil which hydrates the skin and also soothes it from irritation; it also purifies the skin as it contains kaolin clay. I like the concept of this and the packaging, it is innovative and unique to anything else that I have used before, not just because it is along the line of cannabis (I never thought I would be writing that word on my blog) but also because of how it is packaged and how you apply it to the skin. You simply swipe it directly onto your skin from the stick; it’s great. You, of course, resemble the Hulk for five minutes however one hopes that the results are worth it. Now, I have only tried this once so far so this is not a full review in the slightest, it is mere first impressions. Those first impressions are that I in truth I couldn’t really see that much difference to my skin after the first use, it felt smooth, yes but it didn’t look clearer or noticeably hydrated. I will keep you posted.
The Kush Lip Balm, however, is fantastic! I love it and will definitely be purchasing one of the colours within the range. I have the original shade known as ‘Green Dragon’ which is coloured green as the name would suggest. It is clear upon application and remains so, it does not change colour when on your lips, unlike so many other green balms you find. I have found this to be really hydrating and long lasting on my lips, more so than any other lip product I have tried in a while. It has me impressed and has left me satisfied that my money has been well spent; I like it and hope that you do too. It does have a slightly odd taste to it which took me a matter of moments to get used to. I would also add a quick mention to the packaging again here as it is lovely. It is fairly weighty which I like and there is also a satisfying magnetic click when the lid goes back on; it’s the little things.
The final product that I wanted to share with you quickly is the Milk Makeup Lip and Cheek which is the item that I picked up alongside the Kush Stash Bag. I chose the shade ‘werk’ as I felt was the most appropriate and universal shade that would work for my skin tone. It is described as a dusty rose and again comes in the stick packaging which I have to say I am rather fond of already. From what I can see, this is one of the most popular Milk Makeup products, therefore I have quite high hopes for this. At the moment I cannot comment on how well this works as I haven’t yet had the chance to test this out, however seeing as it was part of my Milk Makeup haul (I hate that word), I thought it was appropriate to share it with you today.
