Once again L’Occitane is back with a number of new releases to spark your beauty interest. Over the past few years, L’Occitane has become one of my favourite brands. In my experience, everything I have used has been of superb quality. From just using the products alone you can tell that there is care and thought that goes into them and of course, they are always so very well presented. The brand offers a little spot of luxury to my somewhat hectic life, and, I am all for that.
I have a selection of the new launches to share which I have been trialling out over the last few weeks. There are two new face masks (there are more options online) which I really like and several new lip products which I have to say have surprised me massively; I absolutely love them.
I shall kick things off with the new face masks, As I mentioned, there are a number of new ones which have recently launched. I have been testing out the Aqua Réotier Mineral Moisture Mask* and the Soothing Face Mask* and I have enjoyed them both for different reasons. There are also masks aimed at boosting radiance and purifying the skin if those factors tickle your fancy.
The Aqua Réotier Mineral Moisture Mask* which retails at £32 is part of the Aqua Réotier range which I reviewed a little while back and it is a range which I thoroughly enjoyed. It was lightweight, hydrating and definitely not greasy, I loved it and would recommend it to those with a combination/dehydrated skin type like me. In fact, I am just coming to the very end of the L’Occitane Aqua Réotier Water Gel Cleanser* which I received to introduce me to the range and I still think it is a lovely product for the morning time. Moving back onto the mask, you can either opt to apply this for ten minutes and rinse off as normal or, you can apply a thin layer at night and remove in the morning, therefore, treating it as an overnight mask.
The texture of this is divine, I liken it to that of a sorbet almost. It is cooling on the skin and even more so if kept in the fridge for a few hours. I like to use it as an intense hydration boost mask, as opposed to using it as an overnight mask as this is how it has fitted best within my routine. I find that my skin looks brighter when I have used this, it looks fresh and more vibrant and that is what I want, particularly at the moment when I know my skin is not at its best due to various reasons. Of course, this also boosts hydration and that clearly has a positive impact.
The Soothing Skin Mask* retailing at £29 is slightly different, although I find that the effects of this are the same on my skin currently, however, it does make my skin so incredibly soft that I just have to give it a mention. This mask is different to the former in terms of texture as it is typical of a traditional yoghurt if you didn’t know it was a mask you would be forgiven for mistaking it for something you eat, It looks good and smells fantastic. This contains blackcurrants and is rich in magnesium and calcium to help protect and soothe the skin. Again you leave this on for around 5 minutes and simply rinse off. There are some (what I assume to be) black currant seeds visually within the mask, these are quite soft and do not irritate the skin in the slightest. Overall, I loved this mask and would purchase it in the future for a skincare treat.
The next items I wish to discuss are lip products and as I mentioned above, I absolutely love them, although I do prefer the one over the other. The first of the range is the Pink Calisson Tinted Balm* (there are another four options available) which retails at £20. This is well presented and looks luxurious sitting on your desk, mine is going to work with me after I am back from my week off. It has a nice fruity scent and applies easily on the lips, it is a finger in the pot job so make sure you’re the only one using it. At first I thought it was going to be a bit too pink for me looking at it in the pot, however it is a lot sheerer than I expected so bear this in mind, It does, however, add a lovely hint of colour to the lips that are natural looking, it is a great product for day time if you want something to fuss-free and hydrating. The only thing I would say is that I find I do need to keep reapplying this after just an hour or so, it isn’t the longest wearing, although in truth I tend to experience this with most lip balm products.
Moving onto my favourite of all the products today, the new Fruity Lipsticks* which retail at £18 have been an instant hit with me. I have two of the shades available, Plum Plum Girl* and Nude Infusion* which are both wonderful. I love Plum Plum Girl, it isn’t as bright as I had expected which is a good thing as I do tend to be quite reserved now with the lipstick shades that I wear. I find that it is a shade which I can wear without being conscious of. It is sheer but still pigmented, you only need one swipe of colour and you are done. It has a berry pink tone to it which is really flattering on, I particularly think that this is a perfect spring/summer shade for my skin tone. I find them easy to wear and hydrating on the lips and they also have a lovely shine which makes them more comfortable to wear. Because of this, they do not last for that long and you will need to re-apply throughout the day, that being said, I would happily do so if it means having a product which is more comfortable to wear. The second shade I received was Nude Infusion which for me is more of a muted salmon pink tone; again it is beautiful on the lips. I find that I am leaning more towards Plum Plum Girl at the moment for no particular reason other than I want something a bit brighter on my lips. That takes nothing away from Nude Infusion however, it is a beautiful shade and I know that I will also get plenty of use out of this one too.
Once again L’Occitane have shared with me some of their products and they are all amazing, I am super impressed. The lipsticks especially are for me fantastic and that is coming from somebody who is actually leaning away from a traditional lipstick currently,
