When it comes to hair I’ll be the first one to hold my hands up and state that I have no idea what I’m doing; washing and conditioning my hair is pretty much as far as I will go. I was never that girl who was into curling their hair and creating different looks, mainly because I could never quite get the hang of it. Even now I’m still very much the same and tend to leave my hair to its own devices however these days I’m much more clued up on what shampoos and conditioners actually leave my hair looking and feeling good as opposed to great on the first day and one sad droopy mess the next.
Paul Mitchell is one such brand that I’m growing to really quite like at the moment as their products seem to just work for me. Having already purchased the Super Strong shampoo and conditioner at the beginning of the year I found myself being given the opportunity to try out the Paul Mitchell Smoothing* range which was one I was looking forward to trying knowing that I already liked the brand.

Currently the Smoothing range consists of a few products where today I have a few to share with you. All three of the products have the same lovely fresh scent which immediately makes me think of granny smith apples; delicious! The Super Skinny Daily Shampoo* has been a really nice gentle shampoo that has helped to not only tame any unruly hair but has also ensured that it feels soft and clean without being stripped of natural oils. Whilst the shampoo does have sulphates I haven’t found it to cause any problems for me at all, in fact I have noticed that it doesn’t seem to lather up as much as other shampoos I have used which is either a good or bad thing depending on which way you look at it.
The Super Skinny Daily Treatment* is quite simply a conditioner which again like the shampoo does not disappoint as this has honestly left my hair feeling so incredibly soft. When I use this I somehow get the whole ‘being at a salon’ feel to my hair which is remarkable considering I’m at home in my own shower. Of course like all good hair conditioners this also helps to repair damaged hair and to prevent further damage such as that caused through using heat appliances.
Both the shampoo and conditioner in conjunction have left my hair feeling so good recently and that’s honestly not a claim I can make very often when it comes to hair care products. I’ve being letting my hair dry naturally a lot in the last year or so which I think has improved the condition of my hair quite a lot anyway yet by incorporating both of these into my routine I feel as though it has had a bit of kick start which was long overdue after a period of simply using whatever I had in the bathroom.
Finally we have here the Super Skinny Serum* which was a product that if I’m honest with you I wasn’t all that fussed about initially because like I said at the very beginning of this post, I literally wash my hair and condition it and therefore rarely bother with much else. Having now used this product for myself I can safely say that I think I’ve found a keeper here as by using just a small pump of this through the ends of my hair after I have washed it I have found that it really has helped to keep my hair more manageable and less frizzy. I’m always worried with this type of product as so often in the past I have used things which have led to my hair feeling weighed down or looking crispy or greasy yet this product causes none of that. Upon reading more about this product in particular I discovered that it had won several beauty awards over the last few years which I think really backed up my thoughts on this.
Overall I think all three of these products together have worked incredibly well and have left me with hair that has actually made me feel nice in the weeks that I have being using them instead of it looking and feeling like a constant battle.
Paul Mitchell products can be purchased from HQHair where you will find a variety of the different range available.
