Upon gazing over my blog for what feels like the first time in a long time, I was somewhat shocked to realise that I have posted twice this month. Although that figure now stands at three, it still remains that I have been a little bit absent where this online space is concerned.
Of course being in full time work plays a huge part when it comes to blogging regularly, it is not easy. Alongside this, being somewhat of a harsh critic of myself, I find that my photos can be the biggest issue I have as I am often left feeling dissatisfied with them. Quite simply if I don’t like the photo, the post will not go live. The only time I really get these days to take my photos is of a weekend, and even then one cannot spend all day working on them and editing; there are other things which are more important.
In a nut shell, I have taken the decision to step back a bit from my blog. I am not disappearing, far from it, however it is nice to not worry about it so much these days. As we headed into 2016 I was already feeling a little disengaged, blogging in general for me had become a bit stagnant and far too competitive. Of course healthy competition is always good, however having observed bloggers and blogs over the last six months I truly do think that blogging has become too much of a rat race; whereby it is not a race I wish to be part of.
That being said, I still enjoy blogging immensely and will continue to share with you my beauty ramblings as we go forward.
In other news work continues to go very well, although it is extremely busy at the moment which can be pretty exhausting. Of course with new responsibility there comes new challenges, which means that as of September I will most likely be going back to university to do the next step of my qualification. There are a few things which I need to iron out in terms of the course over the next few weeks, however as it currently stands I will once again be a university student; bring on that discount card!
This month has also seen me get back onto the fitness wagon. For a little while I had fallen off this journey due to one reason and another, however it feels so good to be back on it again, albeit taking small steps once again. I am currently using a couple of apps to help track my progress which I find to be really useful and motivating too. At the moment I am really enjoying Fitbit and Strava, of which the latter is an app for runners and cyclists. It is surprisingly accurate, so much so that I find myself mapping every single route that I do. Having never really used fitness apps before I am extremely keen to find out more about them, therefore if you have any recommendations then please do leave them in the comments below. I am also on the hunt for some nice new fitness workout clothing, it goes without saying that when you look good you feel good and that in itself is motivating.
Whilst rounding this post up I think it is only appropriate to mention Pokémon Go. If you haven’t heard of it then, without meaning to sound rude, but where have you been? I currently have a total of 49 Pokémon (of which all are different I hasten to add). The only downside is that it is a drain on the old battery which has resulted in having to carry a charger around with me for the first time in my life, however it has been well worth it. Despite best efforts Jigglypuff still continues to evade me, although I did manage to capture a Dratini yesterday which has more than made up for it.
P.S In light of the awful new changes on Instagram, I thought it would be worth a shameless plug to promote my page. Head on over if you fancy a gander, be sure to stop by and let me know your usernames too!
What have you been up to lately?
