Despite blogging about beauty for the last six years, I still get excited to share with you my recent beauty purchases every now and then. These days I don’t tend to buy beauty products that often as I have more pressing expenses to cover, that being said, it is still so enjoyable to treat myself every now and then to a few new beauty treats. My last installment in this series featured a few new products from L’Oreal having taken advantage of their 3 for 2 offer in Boots, whereas this little haul has been a combination of Biscester village, Boots and Superdrug. In all honesty, I have picked up these products over the last few months and have compiled them into one post, some of them go back to January therefore I thought it was about time I shared them with you.
This is a repurchase, in fact, I picked up two of these at the same time as they were on some form of deal at the time. Having used this in the past and loved it I decided to go back to it. I have been using the Origins Night-A-Mins night cream for a good while now and despite how much I love it, and would recommend to others, I have started to notice that when I use it that I am sometimes waking up with a few white heads which suggests to me that perhaps it is just a bit too heavy on for my skin for now. If you haven’t tried the Naturally Radiant range from Superdrug, or the Vitamin E range for that matter then I would strongly recommend checking it out, the prices and indeed quality of the products are superb.
It has been a long time since I used Garnier (aside from their micellar water which I buy religiously) but I happened to stumble across this for around £3 on offer and chucked it in my basket to give it a try. I am actually starting to run low on day moisturisers and I am coming to the end of my little sample of the Clinique Pep Start Hydrorush Moisturiser so this will be replacing that very shortly. I am not too sure what to expect from this but thought for the price that I couldn’t really go wrong. If you have tried this then I would be really curious to know how you have got on with it as there are a few products from them which have recently caught my eye such as the Aloe Water Jelly.
Last year saw the launch of the Clinique Pep-Start range which immediately caught my eye due to the bright and simplistic looking packaging. I really wanted to try a couple of things but never got around to going to have a look if I am honest, therefore whilst at Bicester Village back in January this year I popped into The Cosmetics Company and found this little starter set for around £8. I decided to pick this up as it was a nice little kit which would give me an insight into the range and what it had to offer. Included within the kit there are three travel sized products consisting of the Pep-Start Hydrorush Moisturiser, the 2-1 Exfoliating Cleanser and two Quick Start Cleansing Swipes which I am not quite sure about but when I come to give them a go I will try to remember to report back. So far out of the three products I have only being using the Hydrorush Moisturiser which I have to say I do quite like. It is really light on my skin and it sinks in lovely. I would be tempted to buy the full size later on in the year, I also really like the fact that this has SPF20 already within it, therefore knowing I don’t have to worry about SPF elsewhere in my routine is a bonus.
I am pretty certain that this is my first ever Makeup Revolution purchase and I am excited to give it a try. This is my most recent purchase out of all the products featured here and in truth, it was a bit of a spur of the moment thing. I had wanted to give these a go for a little while, however whenever I attended the stand they were either all sold out, open and used by people or the stand was just so crowded that I could never really have a good look at what was on offer. For £6 I am not expecting it to blow me away, however I have read some very good things about this so I am curious to see just how good it really is. I picked up the shade champagne as this was the chase which I found to be the most appropriate for my skin tone.
If there is one beauty brand I haven’t really explored properly then it is Bobbi Brown. There are many products which I really want to try from them, in particular the corrector and concealer and the tinted moisturiser balm. Whilst still at Bicester I also found this utterly gorgeous lipstick in Ballerina Pink and I must say that it is one of the nicest shades I own, I am absolutely in love with it and will feature this in a post again sometime soon. I already know that it will be a repurchase because it is just the most perfect peach to have ever graced my makeup collection. It has quite a glossy finish making it really quite comfortable on the lips, of course longevity isn’t perhaps its strongest point but I would rather have a nourishing and comfortable lip product rather than something which dries and despite lasting makes your lips look like dried out prunes.
I would go as far as saying that the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair has been one of the products that I have wanted to try since around a year into beauty blogging. Due to the price I have always refrained from buying it, I also think that six years ago I was probably a bit too young to be using a product such as this, however this year I am knocking on the door of 29 and can’t help feeling that maybe it is fine to use it now…more than fine in fact. As I come to the end of my beloved Clarins Double Wear I think that the next serum I am going to be incorporating into my routine will be this one. As you can see, I got a little set of products here which I think this set me back around £55; this is the price of the 30ml alone therefore I felt as though I had picked up a good deal. I couldn’t find this exact set online unfortunately, although there are similar ones floating around so it is well worth looking for kits such as this so that you are able to try a number of products. For clarity (if you do find this set) it includes the Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II in the full size, at 30ml, the Advanced Night Repair Eye Concentrate Matrix Synchronized Recovery at 5ml, Advanced Night Repair Intensive Recovery Ampoules and the Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Foam at 30l also.
So there we have it, I think I am now full up to date with all of my beauty purchases in 2018. I mean I still buy Batiste religiously but there is only so many times that can be shared, right?
Whilst you are here, I have recently had to re-start my blog Facebook page as I could not re-name my old one to fit my re-brand therefore it has effectively now sarted again from scratch. In times like this where it is so hard to get your posts seen, it would be really nice if you could head on over to my page and check it out, you can find that here.
