There are currently two beauty products I adore right now within my makeup bag, and it strikes me as odd that I haven’t yet shared them with you, especially due to the fact that they have been part of my makeup routine for the last couple of months. At the beginning of the year I did treat myself to a few new beauty purchases having really cut back the year before. As we have headed into the remainder of this year, that notion has once again took hold and I am on somewhat of a beauty hiatus as we head towards Christmas, let’s just hope Santa knows just how good I have been this year!
Two such products that I picked up before the cut back was the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in the shade Very Victoria and the Stila Convertible Color Dual Lip and Cheek Cream in the shade Lilium. Both products had been on my little wish list for a while, although I was in two minds as to whether to buy Pillow Talk instead of Very Victoria. To this day I still want Pillow Talk, however I am so happy with the Very Victoria shade that for now I am rather content and feel no need to pick up the former as this lipstick has fast become my go to nude shade.
Charlotte Tilbury’s Matte Revolution Lipsticks are some of the nicest formulas that I have personally come across when it comes to matte lipsticks. They’re soft and creamy and of course super pigmented and they never leave my lips feeling or looking dry. I do own two rather bold shades from the matte revolution line, whereas this is my first nude so to speak. In truth I rarely reach for the bolder shades as they are so out there, however Very Victoria is just so perfect, so me, that I have been reaching for it none stop. The shade is inspired by Victoria Beckham in which you are graced with a soft, suede nude as described by Charlotte Tilbury herself. I would say that this is the perfect description. It does have somewhat of a grey undertone in my opinion which balances so beautiful with the mauve shade, perhaps grey is not the best word to describe it but it is what springs to mind. In terms of longevity, it wears fairly well on me, although I do reapply quite consistently throughout the day, whether it warrants it or not.
The Stila Convertible Colour Dual Lip and Cheek Cream in Lilium was a replacement blush for my Nyx Cream Blush as that was close to the end of its days. I therefore opted for this one as I had read so much about these in the past from numerous bloggers, it also didn’t break the bank either. I generally always opt for powder blushes but every now and then I really do like reaching for cream products, although I’ll admit to not being the best at applying them. The Stila Convertible Dual Lip and Cheek Cream is a beautiful product and a little goes a long way. This blush creates a soft natural flushed look to the cheeks, almost barely there makeup. It blends beautifully and lasts quite well throughout the day, although I would recommend setting it with a tiny bit of translucent powder just to help on that front, having said that, this does combat the dewy look somewhat.
Have you tried any of the above two products? What are you loving right now?
