For a while now I haven’t featured monthly favourites here on the blog. It is a shame really as I have always enjoyed writing them, however, I often found that I was either using the same old thing or hunting for new products to feature. I was worried that they would become boring posts for people to read. Sometimes they did feel a little forced and that wasn’t a good feeling, which is why I put them on pause for a while. This year though I have decided to bring them back, therefore I hope you will enjoy reading them and sharing with me your monthly favourites too.
So, without further
I have found myself revisiting two old favourites this month. The first being the Soap and Glory Clean on Me Shower Gel which I received in the Bubble Act gift set at Christmas. I have always adored the original Soap and Glory scent, it reminds me of when I first discovered the brand a number of years ago. I loved it then and I still love it now. Since opening this up at the start of the month I have found myself once again becoming Soap and Glory crazy. I recently picked up a couple of products that I haven’t personally tried before, so expect to see them in the coming months.
The second product I have been enjoying once more is the Superdrug Naturally Radiant Renewing Night Cream which I first discovered back in 2012. Once again, I loved it then and I still love it now. What is even more incredible about this little pot of goodness is the price, it’s £6 at full price but can often be found on offer for less than £3; bargain. It is fairly lightweight in comparison to other night creams I have tried, it also smells lovely! You can read my original review of this here.
Moving onto the last skincare item within this post, the Indeed Labs Retinol Reface is a new product to be featured on here. I picked this up towards the end of last year and have been using this now for roughly three months. In truth, I use this nearly every single morning, although I am not quite sure if I am supposed to. I do make sure that I use an SPF though, whether that is in my moisturiser or my foundation. I have to say that I have noticed quite a difference in my skin since using this, so much so that I am either considering re-purchasing or looking for something which is the next step up in terms of retinol. I must admit that I am a bit of a novice when it comes to retinol, it is something that I am actively researching more about now in order to help me decide what is the right step for me and my skin.
I mentioned in my Makeup Favourites of 2018 that the Glossier Stretch Concealer was a big hit for me last year. This continues into 2019 and will do so beyond I’m sure. It is such a fantastic concealer that looks natural on the skin and it is a dream to blend. I have even used this as a base during a makeup emergency when I forgot my foundation whilst at my boyfriends for the weekend. It worked a treat. If I could recommend only one thing from Glossier, it would be this. I also note that they have increased the shade range of this which is fantastic news!
My last makeup favourite is the Revlon Kiss Plumping Lip Creme which again is a purchase I made last year. I haven’t really seen these featured within the blogging community before, although, I have to say that I really like this product. If you suffer from dry lips (I notoriously do) then I could not recommend these enough, they’re lovely on the lips and do not dry them out at all. The only thing I would say is that I haven’t noticed any impact in respect of lip plumping.
My final January favourite comes in the form of my Kindle and a book. I picked my Kindle up just after Christmas after deliberating over it for a while. Let’s just say that I will always prefer an actual book over a digital copy. I knew that before I purchased it. My reason for picking it up in truth is that I love to read, however, I just do not have the space to store my books at home. So, I have made the choice of storing my books through my Kindle, then, if I really enjoy something, in particular, I will look to purchasing the physical copy at a later date. The latest book I am reading on my device is One Day in December by Josie Silver and I absolutely adore it, I don’t think I have flown through a book as quick as this since I first discovered Harry Potter at the age of 11. Gosh, I feel old. If you want to keep track of what I’m reading, or want to discover some new reads then
What have been your favourites over the last month?
