I have been waiting to sit down and write an introduction to Ark Skincare for a few weeks now, however in the build-up to Christmas things have just been somewhat hectic. I can now happily say that all but one person is done in terms of my Christmas shopping which is a relief, although, no doubt I will end up picking up some extra bits and bobs in the coming weeks.
Ark Skincare is a British brand whereby all of their products are cruelty-free and vegan-friendly which I think is becoming more and more important to many. If you are looking for skincare treats this Christmas which tick those boxes then I would definitely try and check out Ark Skincare if at all possible as they really do have some lovely products, some of which I have really come to love having now been using these products for several weeks.
I have been gifted several items from Ark Skincare but as of yet I haven’t tried all of them, so, I will just be just sharing the three products which I have been using, and loving I might add.
As you can see, I have a pre-cleanse, cleanser and moisturiser, two of which come from the Age Defend range which is the range aimed at my age which is between 30-40. The first comes from the Essentials range which from my understanding is a range that all skin types and those of any age can use.
The Ark Age Defend Conditioning Cleanser* has been quite the joy to use which isn’t often always the case for me when it comes to gel cleansers, I used to adore them but find as I am getting older that cream cleansers are my jam. That being said, I find this gentle, soothing and somewhat relaxing for the evening time; I do also use this of a morning having skipped the pre-cleanse step. This cleanser contains vitamins A and C, all of which help the skin to retain moisture and of course, the blue lotus oil targets skin elasticity and firmness which are areas which I am conscious of now that I am in the next age bracket!
Perhaps my favourite product out of the three is the Ark Age Defend Replenishing Moisturiser* which is packaged in what I feel is the most satisfying packaging I’ve personally tried when it comes to a moisturiser in a pot. It is contained in an airless pump which means that it is hygienic and of course oxidation from contact with the air is minimised. It also could not be simpler to use as you just push down on the top and out comes the product in just the right amount for one application. The product itself is great and again, I would purchase this in the future as I have noticed that my skin looks a lot calmer, brighter, soothed and definitely more hydrated since I started using this in conjunction with the other two products in the routine. This does contain Shea Butter which is something I was wary of at first, however I haven’t experienced any negative side effects with this (in the past I have found it to be too rich), then again, I am now older so perhaps my skin has changed somewhat. the Age Defend Replenishing Moisturiser also contains clinically proven wrinkle plumping peptides which in truth I don’t really have at present, although they will catch up with me one day so early prevention cannot hurt as far as I am concerned.
The Ark Skin Essentials Pre Cleanse and Makeup Remover* has also been a huge hit, I have loved using this and actually came to the end of the bottle this evening. It was super gentle on my skin and it removed my makeup with no difficulties whatsoever. I apply this straight onto dry skin, massaging the product into my skin and around my eyes gently; I simply then rinse this off with a warm flannel. I truly rate this product and would consider purchasing this in the future for myself, especially this travel size mini as it has been quite handy having it in this smaller size when going between my boyfriends’ place and home.
Overall, my first experience with Ark Skincare has been so positive. I have really enjoyed using these products and will continue to do so until I reach the end. If I had to pick one it would perhaps be the moisturiser, however, all three have been fantastic!
