Well, I thought I had done a blog post on each one of these boxes so far this year but it turns out I have not. Oops! They are however always shared on Instagram so do remember to follow if you are interested to see what I pick each month.
Each month Latest in Beauty produce a brand new edit with a new product for every day of the month. Alongside this, there is a special Hall of Fame product which is only available throughout that specific month. If the general daily products do not sell out then you may be able to add them to other monthly edits which I find to be really useful. I have often chosen the odd product or two which were featured in previous months as depending on when you pick your products there may be new ones released a few days later which take your fancy also. This may result in more than one box being ordered…
So, what did I pick for the Latest in Beauty April edit? Starting off with the April Hall of Fame products from Molton Brown we have the Heavenly Gingerlily Body Lotion* and Shower Gel* both of which are 100ml. I am really pleased with these as they are decent travel sizes and should last a little while. I have limited experience with Molton Brown thus far, however, the odd one of two products that I have tried have been divine! I will definitely invest in their products in the future.
Sticking with bath products for one moment longer, we have a new brand (at least to me) which is the Kiss The Moon Glow After Dark Bath Oil* which I am really looking forward to testing out. This will have to be something that lives at my boyfriends place as I only have a shower at home whereas he has a bath and shower. I am really impressed with the presentation of this, I think in itself it would make a very lovely gift. Alone these retail for £38 so receiving this in the box was quite a good deal indeed.
Onto makeup, another new brand and one which I fancied trying was Evalina Beauty and this was in the form of the Shimmer Eyeshadow Stick which retail at £15. The shade I have is Rose Gold and it is so beautiful. I also want to add that when on these do not budge one little bit, the lasting power is impressive, although, this means that you need to work quickly in order to blend it out.
From Dr Paw Paw we have the Multipurpose Soothing Balm* which many people will recognise. This can be used on dry cracked skin such as the lips, hands, heels and elbows. To be honest, it’s kind of perfect timing that this arrived as due to being at home a lot, washing my hands every two minutes and the effect of the central heating I have noticed that my skin and body in general is much drier.
From Botanics, I chose the All Bright Purifying Face Scrub* as I thought it would be nice to try out. I use mostly chemical exfoliants these days but every now and then I do like to have a manual scrub. The scrub element of this consists of micro-fine particles of walnut shell and crushed apricot seeds along with refining AHA’s from the hibiscus plant which I have never heard of before. I quite like Botanics having tried a few things from them in the past, although I must admit I haven’t tried anything from them in recent years.
Lastly, from Your Good Skin we have the ProVitamin Overnight Cream*. I picked this up as again, it is something I wanted to test out and also, I have two cleansers from this brand but haven’t tried any of their moisturisers so this was a great opportunity to try it. Overall this brand seems to get really good reviews so I have high hopes.
I am really pleased with this edit. Everything here is new to me which isn’t always the case, I’ll be really keen to try these products out over the coming months.
