So, I just checked my blog history and it doesn’t appear as though I have shared my previous Beauty Pie purchases. This does go back to July last year mind, I must have not done a post on it. I made my second Beauty Pie order a few weeks ago and, after a little delay with dispatch and postage (completely understandable) my order arrived in all its glory.
If you are not familiar with Beauty Pie then essentially it is a subscription beauty service in which you pay a monthly fee, starting at £5 if you wish (you can increase this if you want to) in which once you become a member you then gain monthly credit to use. A lot of people struggle to understand the initial concept but it really isn’t that complicated once you get the hang of it. For instance, if you join for £5 a month, you then earn a £50 spending limit for that month.
So, if you, for instance, were to purchase a product that costs £10 at the membership price but £30 for a non-member, you would only pay £10 for your product but in purchasing you would have then used £30 of your spending limit, leaving you with £20 left. If you do not spend any of your limit one month, then this simply rolls over and accumulates until you decide to make an order. Due to not making an order since July and being on a monthly membership of £10 until last December when I dropped down to £5, I have accumulated a high spending limit which I have started to use up a little bit, starting off with this recent order.
The main reason for my order was to finally pick up the Beauty Pie Plantastic Apricot Butter Cleansing Balm which I have read so much about. Cleansing balms are my go to cleansers, I just love them and of course I enjoy trying out new ones when I can. I will admit that I am not using them as much lately during lockdown as most of the time I use them to remove my makeup which I’m not wearing much of at the moment. Most of the time this is how I use my cleansing balms, unless of course they’re super fancy and then, on those occasions I will save them for the second cleanse. The balm contains rosehip oil, Vitamin E for antioxidant properties, apricot kernel oil amongst other softening ingredients. It is fragranced so this is something to bear in mind if you’re particularly sensitive. I haven’t yet tried this but once I am back at work I can see myself cracking this open as my current cleansing balm is almost finished.
The second item that I always intended on picking up was the Wondercolour Longwear Cream Shadow Stick in the shade En Taupe. Firstly, the packaging for this product makes it feel a lot more luxurious than the price, it is quite heavy and I like that. Secondly, I could easily be using a product which may have cost me £25+, it is so creamy, long-wearing and pigmented. These are fantastic and I highly recommend you checking them out, I will definitely be ordering more of these during the rest of the year.
From the Jeju range I picked up the Jeju Daily AM/PM Moisture Superinfusion moisturiser which again, I read glowing reviews about. Now, I know this product is all about hydration which I love, but, sometimes it can be a bit too much for my combination skin. I haven’t put this to the test yet but when I do I will be cautious at first as I know some people love it but they find it a bit heavy for day time use. I will test it out and report back in due course. This product contains tomato plant stem cells for antioxidant protection and volcanic basaltic microsand for detoxification and oil balancing which sounds like it would be beneficial for me. In the meantime, this product is out of stock and is estimated to be back end of June.
Two new recent launches from Beauty Pie come in the form of bath and shower products. The Soul Providers range currently consists of three products and I picked up two of them. The Soul Providers Re-Energizing Dry Oil Sugar Scrub is already a winner in my eyes. Yes, I have used it a few times now and I just adore it. The scent is glorious, truly glorious. I can’t pinpoint the scent to one particular ingredient, although within it you will find lemongrass, black pepper, almond oil, evening primrose oil and more. The demerara sugar within the scrub helps to buff away dead skin cells and promote blood circulation as you scrub your skin in circular motions. I use this on damp skin after mixing up the scrub with the wooden spoon provided, this allows the essential oils to mix thoroughly with the sugar granules. When I used this on dry skin I found it harder to use the product which resulted in me using more of the scrub. On damp skin, it just spreads that little bit easier. I have to say, everything about this is lush, it is a real treat for your skin, there is no doubt that my skin feels highly moisturised after use and of course smoother. I cannot imagine not purchasing this again, well done Beauty Pie.
The final product I picked up from the Soul Providers range was the Soul Providers Energizing Body Wash which I thought sounded nice. I haven’t tried this also, although I am wondering why as it may complement the scrub well. I have fallen into a trap of using up products before I open new ones which in theory sounds great but it means I’m not always able to review things straight away. The only reason I have tried the scrub is that I had no others open, or any at all come to think about it. I know that this is a citrus-based scent as it contains lemongrass, sweet orange, lemon, and grapefruit so I already know that I will love it, they are my favourite scents by a long shot.
So there we have it, a bit of a Beauty Pie haul to share with you. If you’re thinking of ordering from Beauty Pie I would advise that there is a bit of a wait at the moment, normally they are super quick but the wait is worth it, trust me. I use a few other Beauty Pie products and they have all been great so I would definitely recommend checking them out.
