I am so excited to share the Cult Beauty X Wayne Goss box today. Having said that, it is somewhat impossible to get these boxes up online before they sell out these days, they’re gone in a flash. Prime example, the Sali Hughes box with Cult Beauty was released on Wednesday, it has already sold out. Whilst I did manage to pick one up, I also picked up the Wayne Goss box which launched in March. Again, this sold out quickly, however, even though you cannot buy the box itself, you can still buy the products on an individual basis from Cult Beauty or many other online retailers. I love to share beauty purchases and I hope that whilst this specific product isn’t available, you will still enjoy the post.
If you are not familiar with Wayne Goss, he is a English Makeup Artist with a great YouTube channel, his own makeup brush line and, more recently his own lip products. I would highly recommend checking out his channel as I find it to be one of the most informative out there.
With a saving of over 40%, it was a great purchase, especially as it contained a couple of products that I personally had my eye on anyway. The box cost £90 but was worth £150. As I said, it was a great saving even if at first the initial outlay seemed a lot.

Inside the box there were two makeup products and four skincare products, I like that there was a nice mix here as of course, I have a passion for both. The first makeup product was one in which I had the option to choose which shade I wanted, that was the Hourglass Scattered Light Glitter Eyeshadow. I looked at these after Christmas last year, there was a set of three that went into the sale and looking back I wish I had picked them up but at the time I decided not to. Ever since I have had my eye on them as they look so beautiful and have gained some lovely reviews since they launched. I chose the shade ‘smoke’ which is a taupe, it is absolutely stunning! To me this is a grown-up glitter eyeshadow with has the most buttery soft formula, they are so smooth and have no grit whatsoever. I highly recommend them for something with an extra bit of sophisticated sparkle.
The second makeup item was the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder which I can report is probably the finest powder I have yet to try. Now, bearing in mind I haven’t tried that many I can’t say it is the best one ever, however, it gives such a flawless finish to my makeup, it blurs imperfections, it is light on my skin and it does prolong the staying power of my makeup. At full size there is 29g of product, you really don’t need much at all so I can see this lasting such a long time.

In terms of skincare, the first product is from The Inkey List and it the Hyaluronic Acid Serum. I have read so much about this product and I am sure most people recognise the brand now. At affordable prices, The Inkey List really has brought to the table something new and rather unique. I must admit, I haven’t dabbled with them at all but I have purchased a few other things during lockdown which have now arrived so I am looking forward to trying them out. Hyaluronic Acid is a key ingredient which provides hydration to the skin, it can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water which means it can really help to keep your skin hydrated and plump, helping to hide those fine lines.
From Pixi, we have the Pixi Glow Tonic which again, is a bit of a cult product these days. Some people love it, some people just don’t get on with it. I definitely fall into the former and can report that I do rather like this. Containing 5% glycolic acid this product aims to gently exfoliate the skin, buffering away dead skin cells. The low percentage of glycolic acid makes this quite mild, however, I do recommend testing it out a couple of times a week before you use it every day. I personally don’t use it every day when I have one open and on the go, but as far as I understand, it can be used in this way if you so wish. You have to learn to understand what your skin needs, it can be easy to overdo it with acids so it is something to be aware of.

Finally, the last two products are from two brands that I have been really keen to try out since I first discovered them online. The first product is from LIXIRSKIN and it is the LIXIRSKIN Universal Emulsion. This is a product, which, if I am honest with you I wasn’t really sure what it was. If I had been able to choose anything from this brand to try it probably wouldn’t have been this, I would have gone for the Vitamin C paste, that being said, I am sure it is a great product, I just need to test it out first. As I understand it, this can be used as a moisturiser for the face, lips, neck, arms etc. It also contains SPF10 which is a bit low in my opinion, having said that, I do use a separate SPF which is why this specific element isn’t an issue for me. ‘
Rounding up the box is the Drunk Elephant Slaai Makeup Melting Butter Cleanser, which, if you know me, you know that I adore a balm cleanser. They are probably my favourite form of cleansers out there and I cannot see that changing any time soon. Now, Drunk Elephant I know have caused a little controversy in recent months, I’m not aware of the full story but I do worry that people will judge me if I use their products. That being said, I know that they create some cracking products given the reviews online and there are people that I admire the industry which highly rate certain ones, so, I find that I can’t help but want to try them myself. The cleanser also comes with the Bamboo Booster which is a physical exfoliant which you can mix in with the cleanser as you apply it. Made up of charcoal spheres and bamboo this provides a higher rate of exfoliation. I have come across something like this before with the Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm and in truth, I tried them once and never reached for the exfoliating particles again; I can’t see how this will be any different but I will give it a try.
Overall, I was very happy with this box and I can’t wait to see who Cult Beauty collaborate with next as I just love these boxes.
