I am back with another beauty box review and this time, it is the Lookfantastic July Beauty Box which if I am honest, I have mixed feelings about. I posted last month about the Lookfantastic June Beauty Box which I thought was brilliant, yet this one has left me feeling a little underwhelmed. I subscribed to Lookfantastic in June with the intention of trying out the box for three months or so. As I said, I loved the June box but July not so much. I paid £15 a month so for me, this makes it one of the more expensive beauty boxes available by £1 or so, it is marginal let’s be honest but still, every penny counts.
This month there were two variations of the box due to popularity from what I understand and I have to say, the second variation was better than the first in my opinion. Both boxes were worth over £50 and you receive inside a total of six products in each.
I received the first variation of the box and inside there were two products that I would not have chosen for myself. Now, this tends to happen with most boxes, there is often one or maybe even two products that just not do it for you and that is the risk you take with a beauty box such as this. My main gripe is that one of the products was a tub of vitamins which is not something I would want to receive in a box, furthermore, I received the box around the 5th July, the expiry on said vitamins is August this year. I just think this is very poor and if they were going to keep these in a box, they should have done them earlier on in the year in order to give people a chance to use them.
The second product is the Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream which looks like a beautiful colour but I just know that I will not use it. Hence me not taking off the protective wrapper, this is going to go in a future giveaway where hopefully somebody will get some use out of it.
Inside the box on a whole I got the following:
- Sleek Matte Me (Bittersweet)
- Thisworks Morning Expert Hyaluronic Serum (10ml)
- So Eco Blush Brush
- MONUspa Rose & Lemon Enriched Body Cream (100ml)
- Myvitamins Beauty Sleep/Hair, Skin & Nails – I got the Beauty Sleep ones (30 capsules)
- Mádara Regenerating Night Cream (25ml)
There were some positives to this box, the first being the ThisWorks Morning Expert Hyaluronic Serum. I have wanted to try more from this brand so I was quite happy to get this, I also really like the MONUSpa Rose and Lemon Enriched Body Cream, it smells really lovely and feels nice and light on the skin. The So Eco Blush Brush also is a hit. I haven’t yet used this but the packaging is nice and the brush feels lovely and soft, this gets a thumbs up from me so far.
All in all, it is a bit of a mixed bag. If you like vitamins like this then this box overall may be a good one for you, I was just left feeling a bit annoyed about those.
