I am back today to share with you the Glossybox Birthday Edition which was released for the month of August. Throughout this month I tried my best not to buy many beauty products and I am happy to report that I did quite well and spent much less than I would normally. One of my select few purchases from the month was Glossybox. Now, trusty readers will remember that I was a subscriber for a few months and then I did cancel. There is a little story as to why I returned to Glossybox but it is safe to say that I have once again cancelled.
Back in July, I noted that Glossybox was doing a new fancy edition for July so I subscribed once more, mainly for my birthday and the funky box, I’m not going to lie. To cut a long story short, my July box never arrived, after lots of promises of dispatch, it never materialised and I ended up being refunded. It wasn’t the best, although the ladies that I chatted with on the Facebook messenger service were very helpful. Frustratingly, after requesting to cancel my subscription long before the 14th my August box never got cancelled, which is why I am here today sharing you the contents. Luckily, the August box was a pretty decent box but I have once again made the decision that this is the end of Glossybox for now unless they bring out an amazing limited edition; you all know me by now, I am a sucker for a one-off box!

So, this month it was Glossybox’s 9th birthday which I was surprised at; I wasn’t aware that they had been around that long. The box itself was very much pink-themed to go along with the original trademark pink boxes, I loved the design of it and I will 100% be keeping it to store bits and bobs in going forward. The black and white bow suggesting the box was in itself a gift was a great idea, I loved it! This month also saw the launch of the Glossybox skincare line in which one item was included within the box, subscribers get a 20% discount on the whole line and everything is roughly £12-£23 depending on if you’re a subscriber or not.
Inside this months box, there were as usual five products, two of which I won’t use and therefore they will be going into my next giveaway. You can follow me on Instagram to keep up with any giveaways as that is where I tend to do them these days.
- Huda Beauty Demi Matte Cream Lipstick (1 of 10 shades) – Full Size
- Glossybox Skincare Eye Boost Cream – 15ml
- Brushworks HD Wonder Complexion Sponge – Full Size
- Molton Brown Delicious Rhubarb & Rose Bath and Shower Gel – 100ml
- Steve Laurant Vogue Lip Liner – Full Size
You may have already guessed if you have followed my blog for a while that the two lip products will be the ones entering the giveaway. I hardly ever use lip liners so that is a bit of a shame, and the matte lip cream from Huda Beauty, despite me wanting to try this really badly I just know that it will not suit me, it is the dark shade of “Revolutionaire” which will do me no favours at all. The products themselves I am sure are great, this decision just boils down to overall opinion and personal preference so for me I can’t really criticise the box although a lighter shade of the lip cream would have been a lot better. Other than that, I’m quite happy with the other products, my favourite would have to be the Molton Brown Shower Gel which is just divine, I love this brand.
