Beauty Empties – Recently Recycled #35
It has been a while since I shared any beauty products I have used. In fact, not long after taking these photos I got rid of all my empties, I just couldn’t hold onto them any longer. I have re-started and hope to keep on top of them going forward. She says. I have also noticed that there are no PR samples within this post, a complete coincidence, although I have worked with one of the brands before, that being Tropic.
Anyway, enough of a ramble. I’ll keep it short and sweet today.
Starting off with an old favourite. I have used up the Garnier Micellar Water once again. I continue to re-purchase when I run out each time. I have used this for years now and I still think it is one of the best, if not the best micellar water out there. You get a decent amount and it is relatively affordable and accessible. I only use this type of product o remove my initial eye make-up before cleansing, I just find it easier to use and it is more gentle on my eyes.
Sticking with cleansers, I also used up the No7 Radiant Results Clay Cleanser which does not seem to exist anymore having had a look online in order to link it today. That is a shame as I did enjoy using this product, it was gentle and non-stripping which is something you have to be aware of with clay-based products as they can leave your skin feeling dehydrated if you’re not careful. This also lasted me a while which was worth noting until I realised it is no longer available. A little went a long way.
Last Christmas (I think) I received a set of mini body washes by Tropic. These were cute little sizes, ideal for travelling and were a good way of trying out the brand. They were nice enough but nothing particularly stood out to me. I wouldn’t purchase these for myself as I don’t tend to spend a lot on body washes etc as they quickly go down the plug. This leads nicely on to the Superdrug Vitamin E Bath Soak. I purchased this on a bit of a whim as I am quite a fan of this range in general from Superdrug, along with the Naturally Radiant range. I have to say that the bubble bath for me was a little underwhelming, the bubbles were not great which was the main thing I was looking for. It is a gentle product though therefore it should be suitable for most skin types, particularly those with sensitive skin or dry skin.
Next up is the Herbivore Blue Tansy Invisible Pores Resurfacing Clarity Mask, Sadly I have very little to say about this. It went off in the box and started forming some kind of mould on it. I hadn’t even had it that long (less than 6 months and it was unopened) which was incredibly disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend this product at all. I’d also go on to say that I have recently used up the Herbivore Pink Cloud Rosewater and Tremella Creamy Jelly Cleanser and would have to say that I also found this disappointing. I don’t think I’ll be using Herbivore again, to me it comes across as a brand that looks pretty/has a nice aesthetic but unfortunately, fails to deliver.
I also used up a small sample pot of the Kate Somerville Exfolikate Glow Moisturiser which I believe was a free gift when I made a purchase last year at some point. I have to say I did like this, I did notice the glow and felt that it did achieve what it set out to do. My only issue with this is the price, it is just so expensive for a moisturiser. I would rather spend my money on a great serum as opposed to a moisturiser as there are some fantastic ones on the market which are incredibly affordable and can all but achieve the same thing. I don’t believe that you need to spend your money on moisturisers, they’re like the icing on the cake, the final layer (aside from SPF). To me I would rather spend my money on the filling, I hope that makes sense!
Last but not least I am sharing the Beauty Pie Super Retinol Vitamin C Night Renewal Moisturiser. I have used up two of these now and I would happily repurchase. It is a very gentle retinol, a great one for beginners or those with sensitive skin. It aims to boost the skin’s firmness and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, all whilst supporting the skin’s protective barrier. All important stuff and one that I am fairly confident is being achieved with this particular product. I must make another soon as I don’t think I have a backup.
