January seems to have come and gone in a flash, almost so quickly that I found myself rather unprepared for the obligatory ‘January Favourites’ posts down my bloglovin feed this morning. I have to admit these types of posts are some of my favourites to read as I like to think that the products or items that reach the monthly round up are that extra bit special.
First of all I’m going to start with the Origins High-Potency Night-A-Mins night cream from Origins. I picked this up at the end of December after I had received some money for Christmas; it was part of a gift set which you can see a brief low down of here. This night cream has so far being working really well for my skin, it smells wonderful and leaves my skin feeling really nice, I particularly notice the effects of this in the morning when I wake up with really soft skin. I plan to do a full review on this in the next month or so.
An old favourite of mine has to be the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation. I’ve recently being using this a bit more than anything else as it has just reached its expiry date; I’ve had it roughly one year now and seeing as I hate to waste products I decided to put other things aside whilst I used up the remainder of this foundation. This was a firm favourite of mine until I discovered the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation which I must admit I do prefer ever so slightly more.
The Max Factor Mascara has been the mascara I have reached for ever since I was kindly sent it by Layla; I did a mini review of this here. With this being brown/black as opposed to my usual black mascara I was a little dubious however my eyes have literally been opened up with trying something different as it has softened the appearance of any eye look I have created; the perfect mascara for day time.
Quite possibly one of my favourite lip products has to be the Revlon Kissable Balm Stains with the shade ‘honey’ being my all-time favourite. I’ve being keeping this in my bag whilst at work and it has been my go to lip colour this month, I simply adore it. All of the writing has completely come off mine now which is a slight shame however it will definitely be one I re-buy. This says a lot for me as I hardly ever re-buy lip products, do you?
My super bright neon pink Filofax just had to be featured this month; oh how I love this item of stationary! I purchased this before Christmas when it was on offer on the WHSmiths website. To be honest it is very expensive in my opinion being priced at £80, I luckily didn’t pay that as it was reduced down to £60 and I had a voucher to use too which took it down to £50. Having said that I still think £50 is pretty expensive for a diary type product, I guess it all depends on how much use you will get out of something like this. I’ve used mine every day so far and I know I will continue to do so; I’m very old fashioned when it comes to being organised and like to have everything that’s going on written down. I’m certainly not one of those that can plan things in their phones, it seems so unnatural!
