For someone like me who enjoys wearing her skinny jeans to death the idea of wearing a skirt and actually exposing some flesh often fills me with dread. Hidden away under my jeans my legs can often get quite dry, therefore as soon as the sun pops out I delve into my array of body lotions in order to prep my skin and make my legs less of a scaly dragon and more of a Greek goddess. Who am I kidding? At least they’re made somewhat acceptable.
One of my all-time favourite body moisturisers has to be the Palmers Cocoa Butter which smells incredible and is, in my opinion one of the hardest products to beat when it comes to leaving your skin feeling silky soft. I’ve been through numerous bottles of this over the years and know that I can rely on it to do a good job; it’s also super affordable too and comes in different varieties.
A moisturiser that surprised me was the Dove Beauty Body Moisturiser which I have to admit should have been thrown away a little while ago. Ignoring this fact blissfully I decided to give it a try and was left with super smooth legs, completely taken by surprise I’m quite certain I’d pick this up again. Dove and me have a bit of a hit and miss relationship as I find many of their hand products dry my skin out completely and sadly their shampoos have never done much for me however this product was a complete success.
One of the more recent body moisturisers I have tried comes from the brand HealGel whereby HealGel Body* is the latest release within the brands range. Whilst being the most expensive featured I have to say I really do like it as it provides instant hydration to the skin and also smells rather lovely too. Sadly the price point of this product for me as a consumer puts me off purchasing this because in all fairness I do see just as good results with some of the cheaper alternatives that I have featured here. Whilst I raved about the HealGel Face and HealGel Eye that I was sent a while back I do find myself struggling to justify this one product due to the price alone. If you’re into your expensive skincare both face and body then of course by all means do check out this product because it is very good however personally I do tend to spend more on products for my face and then look for cheaper alternatives for my body.
Stealing a product from my mum once again I have being using the Garnier oil Beauty Moisturising Lotion which has stolen the limelight from my trusty Palmers over recent weeks. Of course new beauty products within my household always receive a lot of attention when they are new however I have found myself reaching for this quite often recently. I have found that it sinks in super quick once applied which is ideal after I have just got out of the bath. One of my pet hates is waiting around for body lotions to sink in (mainly because of those pesky skinny jeans) therefore when a product sinks into the skin quick it immediately receives thumbs up from me.
Of course this post wouldn’t be complete without a trusty Body Shop Body Butter making the cut. This time I have chosen the Vineyard Peach scent as it smells incredible and of course being a body butter this means that it ultimately makes it my favourite choice hands down. You see despite these lovely body lotions I highly doubt that I will ever be parted with my trusty body butters.
What do you like using to keep your body in tip top condition throughout the summer?
