Guys, I have a confession. I forgot to post about this box in the mayhem that was February. It is now sold out, you can’t buy it, BUT, these products I am featuring today are, I am noticing, creeping back into certain boxes with Latest In Beauty. For instance, the cleanser featured today will be in this month’s edit at some point, so, if you are interested then please do read ahead.
The CEW Beauty Awards box back in February 2020 was one of the ones in which you have a selection of products and you then pick the six that you want. In a way, it’s on a first come first served basis as some of the products are, more often than not more popular than others, so naturally, these go first. I decided to pick up this box as I really liked the selection on offer, I waited for it to come online and made my choices as quickly as possible.
Overall I was super pleased with the products I chose, one being a repurchase and the rest were new to me.
The first product I chose was the Sukin Rosehip Nourishing Cream Cleanser. I have seen this brand in Boots a number of times but have never picked anything up. It sounds like a really nice gentle product and I thought it would be a good one to try out in order to obtain a little taster of the brand. I must admit, I do like the sound of this as it is formulated without any silicones, mineral oil, parabens, it is cruelty-free and also suitable for vegans if that is something that interests you.
My repurchase was the Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist which I have really enjoyed using in the past due to how refreshing it is. It is a beautiful fine hydrating mist which does work (I have been sceptical of mists in general in the past). I first tried this back in 2016 and since then I have used a number of mists. Back then I didn’t really rate them but I have found that as I have got older I have appreciated them more. Sticking with Omorovicza for a moment longer, I also picked up the little sample size of the Daily Vitamin C so I can give it a whirl. I am sure this won’t last me all that long but given that the full size retails at £87 I thought that this would be the closest I get to try it for a while.
From Iconic London, I chose the Prep Set and Glow Mist which can be used to hydrate the skin and set makeup. I will probably use it for the latter, although I will give it a go in order to see how I get on with it in terms of a skincare product. In truth, the glitter inside puts me off but I haven’t yet tried it so I am not too sure how noticeable this will be once I have applied it. Visually, this is a stunning product and I cannot get over how pretty it looks in the bottle. Given the glitter element, I am conscious that I do not want to be or look shiny upon application. I would add that it looks a lot finer than traditional glitter or that which you can sometimes find in cosmetics, it does not have chunks of glitter, it just glistens and catches the light rather beautifully. I am intrigued by this product and I am looking forward to opening it up soon as my Urban Decay Setting Spray is almost finished.
I also liked the sound of the Nuxe Reve De Miel Melting Honey Body Oil Balm. I thought this would be a nice travel size to have at hand and of course, it would be a way of testing it out as I must admit, other than the Nuxe Reve De Miel balm, I haven’t reached for the brand any further. That being said, I do have a few bits to test out in my skincare stash and considering that I am flying through things quite quickly I will probably start testing them soon.
Lastly, I chose the Face Halo Makeup Remover Pads, the pack I got contained three pads. Now, I didn’t know much about these when I first purchased them, I just thought they were reusable makeup pads, which essentially I guess they are. However, after reading more about them, from what I understand you can use these with just water alone. This staggers me, what about cleansers? Scrubs etc? It just doesn’t seem right. I am going to try this in the name of research but I am sceptical, how can they be sure your face is actually clean? I am quite certain, in fact, I know full well that I will be using these with my cleansers for sure. Once I have tried the water alone theory…just once mind. I would also add that they feel rather nice, they’re very soft and seem of good quality too. If they are successful upon use I might think about buying one more pack so that I have six on rotation. I have recently purchased some reusable pads from Amazon, although I can’t help but want an abundance of these at my disposal before I need to do a wash. You can buy Face Halo from Boots but they seem to only be sold on an individual basis at £7 each, therefore, if you can find a pack of three that may be more affordable.
Overall, this was a great box for me and I am super happy with the products that I chose. Did you pick up anything from the CEW Beauty Awards box with Latest in Beauty, was it really that long ago?!
