If you had the impression that I had not purchased any beauty products since my last post back in May then you would be mistaken, I have just fallen a little behind in posting about them on here. Today I am back with Recent Beauty Purchases #17 (I’m sure it is technically higher than that) however, if you want to keep bang up to date, the best place to do so is over on Instagram; I would love to see you over there. In the meantime, I am here today to share with you some of my latest purchases over the last few months. The majority of these were purchased during my trip to London for my graduation at The Law Society, I saved up some spending money in order to hit Space NK predominately as it is my favourite beauty haunt and unfortunately my local store closed down a little while ago; I still haven’t got over it.
So, my first beauty purchase was actually a sale item which I was so lucky to find as most of the sale stock had sold in stores by the time I was in London. I stumbled upon The Fresh Hydration Ever After Gift Set which I immediately picked up and held onto. If I remember rightly, this was reduced to around £40 pounds. I was so pleased to pick this up as I had wanted to try the brand for ages and it was a great way to do so at a more affordable price. Inside the gift set, there was the Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner 100ml, Soy Face Cleanser 50ml, Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream 50ml and Rose Face Mask 15ml. I haven’t tried all of the products out of here yet, however, I have tried a sample of the rose moisturiser and it is divine! I absolutely adored it so I am very much looking forward to using the full size once I open it.
My next purchase came from NARS which is, of course, one of my all-time favourite brands. The first product I picked up was the NARS Tinted Glow Booster which I had seen all over my social media at the time but must admit, I hadn’t read too much into it. This is a limited edition product which I had not realised until it came to writing this post. This provides little to no coverage, it simply adds a bit of a glow to your makeup which is nice, but in hindsight, I wish I had held off buying the full size and instead sought out a sample to try first. It does provide a slight glow but it isn’t a patch on the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter, this is much more subtle and it is something to bear in mind depending on the type of look you’re going for. I do like it personally as I like my makeup to look quite natural as opposed to glam. The packaging is, of course, wonderful, as you would come to quite rightly expect with NARS.
What I have really enjoyed by the brand are the Afterglow Lip Balms. I picked up a little mini duo to try and these have been lovely additions to my makeup routine. They are so easy to wear and they provide just a touch of pigment and feel really lovely and luxurious on the lips, plus they physically look great. I love the design of these and how the colours vary depending on the shade you choose. Over the years I have become somebody who does not reach for a traditional lipstick, I am much more inclined to go for tinted balms such as these so they are 100% right up my street.
Speaking of lip products, I also picked up two further lip products during my trip. The first was the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer in Fussy. I have the original shade in this and love it, it is such a nice lip gloss and it is so easy to wear, the stickiness is to a minimal! I really like that they have expanded the range and added a few new shades which is what led to me to make this purchase. Fussy has a slightly more pinky tone to it, making it a great shade for spring and summer in particular but I intend to wear it all year round. The last product I picked up was another sale purchase, that being the By Terry Baume De Rose Lip Crayon in the shade Candy Rose. I found this for £13 and instantly picked it up as I am quite the fan of the original Baume De Rose lip balm, therefore I was curious to see how this would perform. At present, I haven’t yet opened this but I do plan on trying it soon.
