When it comes to storing your beauty products there is no denying that the appeal of the much hyped about acrylic storage from Muji is one that is hard to avoid. For a while I held off but then one day I finally decided to bite the bullet and purchase two draws of my own; the rest is quite simply history. Upon closer inspection of my content recently I have noticed that I have never really alluded to my beauty storage and indeed my collection on a whole therefore I thought that I would kill two birds with one stone as it were and combine both within a mini blog series therefore welcome to The Muji Files Part 1!
Kicking things off I’m starting off with my top draw because you know I’m all about the base, about the base…check me out with a current music reference there albeit the different spelling! Back to make up rather promptly I tend to store anything here that is a base product such as primers, concealers and of course foundations as they are the first things I use in the morning when I apply my make up after I have moisturised. Some of my favourite items within this draw consists of the Seventeen Stay Time Concealer which has to be one of my favourite high street concealers to date; paired up with the Seventeen Phwoaar Paint you have a pretty good combo here for helping to cover dark circles. The only thing I feel that I do need to mention is that before using Phwoaar Paint I really do have to ensure that I have used a hydrating eye cream beforehand as I do find it prone to sinking into any creases.
A big shout out goes out to the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation and NARS Sheer Glow which are two of my up-most favourite foundations that I have tried since I started my blog. Firstly I can’t ignore the price tag of these as they’re not cheap however I have been so impressed with these two and would without a doubt re-purchase them when they eventually run out. In comparison I have a much more affordable foundation option in the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation which I would go as far to say that it is my favourite from the high street that I have ever tried. For me I find that it provides a light to medium coverage that blends really well and feels light on my skin; it is an almost perfect match for my skin tone which makes it one of my favourite budget beauty buys.
I also like to store foundation samples here too as I’m a big believer in trying a sample of a product before buying them, that is of course if it is possible to do so. At the moment I have a few samples from Lancome and have also more recently picked up a little sample of the DiorSkin Star which is beautiful! Quickly rounding up this post I have a few primers that I tend to go between with no real loyalty to any if I’m honest, they’re all pretty good however I think I’m still looking for the one that works for me. A worthy mention here does go out to Benefit Porefessional Primer which I think works better for me in comparison to the NARS Radiance Enhancing Primer.
